I need help

I wanted to buy a flatscreen monitor as a gift for Alexander- don't worry he never reads this. The ones at Apple are thousands of dollars. I looked around at reviews for LCD monitors and at the old tube ones. I learned a lot about which ones would be better on the eyes, have the best colors etc. Does anyone know if buying a monitor from Dell or Samsung would work with an Apple Powerbook? Some specifically say only PC compatible- some don't say anything. Not one said Apple compatible. I would appreciate any advice in the comments section or straight to email.

Thanks, Mang.

Apple has adapters for any of that shit, to be more specific, there is a DVI to VGA adapter (which if its new and it doesn't have a VGA atatchment, its a piece of shit)that is synonymous with any standard computer monitor or flat screen monitor/television. Dell, HP, Mac, Sony, Panasonic, whatever....Just make sure its either intended as a computer screen, or is HD ready. Computer screens need to have the higher resolution otherwise it will look like someone smeared snot all over your screen. Atleast thats what I think it looks like (I tried to hook my powerbook up to a Zenith television console that was built in 1987, it worked, but like I said, a thin layer of snot).

Dear Anonymous,
Don't be shy. Now, let me see if I understood this-

I need to get a DVI to VGA adapter, which I assume is a cable? and then i can buy any flat screen monitor I like?

I definitely picked up on the higher resolution of computer screens. I get migraines easily and am paranoid about flickering so I was all over that.

Kate.
The DVI to VGA adapter should work.

Get a nice 20inch flat screen. I've been tring to lobby for one at work but they won't give me one. I'm stuck with my 20inch CRT (it takes up the entire desk). Think I'll 'find' one the next time I stay late.
