Carcass


So we finished the ham we bought in Lisbon. It was a tough job, but we did it. I did get a little weirded out when the knee bent while cutting. Still, it was a great buy and I would do it again. I thought we would be eating ham until next spring. It took us three weeks to eat 7.2 kilo of ham. That includes the bone and layers of fatty lumpkin so maybe more like 4 kilo of ham.

You know, I didn't realize the first photo of the ham from your earlier post was, in fact, a ham. I thought it was a large objet d'art. So, did the ham rack come with the purchase, did you buy it seperately, or did you already own it? Am I a sheltered, uncultured heal for never having seen such a device? Well? Ham I?

The rack came with the ham. We were really excited about the whole deal. I am not sure this sort of ham device is that well known. Well I never saw it before.
